Apartment living can feel cramped and cluttered unless you make a little time for organizing and creating a feeling of spaciousness. Some simple tips can turn your cozy abode into a welcome retreat.

In small spaces, walls, fabrics and furniture in neutral or light colors provide the most sense of space. To add a little sparkle, create splashes of color in certain areas by using decorative pillows, throw rugs, furniture throws or wall hangings.

Many items of furniture can also double as storage, such as ottomans that open up, bedside tables with drawers or storage trunks as coffee tables. Kids' Bedroom: How to Organize

Your patience will really be put to the test dealing with children's disorderliness. You are one lucky mother if you have a child who leaves his bedroom clean and tidy. However, this is very rare.

To avoid and to teach your child lessons on orderliness, it is not enough to nag him. One of the things you can do is have a list and post it on his headboard or on the door of his closet. Make a slogan on neatness and make it something light or funny. Children will appreciate it more if the slogan is more appropriate to their age. Do not forget to put pictures, too.

Next is to provide him with enough organizers. It may be that he does not have storage space for his things. Sometimes we tend to neglect this. Children would always love to have their toys in their room especially those between the ages of 4 - 12. Even children aged 7 - 12 have their own collections which they prefer to keep in their bedroom. Teenagers, too, have their own collections. They have magazines, CDs, make-up, all sorts of knick-knacks that are children's passions.

Third, provide him a small feather duster, broom, a dustpan and a trash can. This will remind him that he needs to do a little tidying up following the list that you posted on his closet door. The trash can will also remind him to throw bits of paper and rubbish in the can instead of just throwing it on the floor.

Choosing the suitable bedroom furniture
If your child's bed has the traditional structure (bed frame and mattress), buy some storage boxes. These plastic storage boxes come in different designs and height. They are equipped with wheels for easy pulling. Ensure that when you buy them, you measure the space under the bed that is from the bed frame to the floor. If his bedroom still has some space, you can opt to buy him storage boxes that have built-in drawers. It can be placed in one corner. The number of drawers varies depending on what you need.
If your resources will permit, get him a bed that has fitted drawers. Most modern beds are now built with drawers underneath.
Having custom-built shelves on the walls for his books, toys, and other items is another option. Use elaborate brackets so it will be like a display area of his toys, etc.
Check on the latest closets. Most of this modern furniture has divisions so clothes, socks, underwear, hankies, belts, hats, and other accessories can be stored. Ensure that he has ample space to hang his clothes especially the school uniforms.
If he uses his room to do his homework, provide him a small table and a desk lamp. Get a table that has drawers so he can keep his school items in it. You can get him a bench with drawers instead of a chair.
Lastly, do not do the tidying alone. Set a schedule with your child to do the cleaning together. This will teach him the proper way of tidying his room and is another way of bonding together. When you are through with your cleaning, make sure that you prepare a simple snack for yourselves.

Once you get this habit into his system, you will no longer have to remind him of his task. In fact, he will learn to appreciate the goodness of having a clean bedroom.

4. Shower - A pool shower is a great accessory to have around the pool to wash chlorine out of your hair immediately after getting out of the pool. We all know what chlorine can do if you leave it in your hair for too long. A pool shower just hooks up to your outdoor hose and can be placed anywhere around the pool.

5. Poolside Tables - One of the most overlooked, must have outdoor pool furniture pieces, are small tables to place right next to the pool. These tables can be used to place many things on including phones or drinks for easy access rather than getting in and out of the pool.

6. Towel rack - It is always a great idea to have a towel rack close to your pool for you and your guests to keep towels clean and dry while you are in the pool. Many times towels get thrown on the ground close to the pool and end up getting wet, causing more work for you at the end of a great day at the pool.

7. Floating Pool Lights - One of my favorite pool accessories are lights. There are many different styles to choose from including floating pool lights that you place right in the water. Floating pool lights are fun and provide a nice ambiance when using your pool at night time.

8. Bar - Another option to the beverage box is going all out and having an outdoor bar in your back yard. You could choose to build a tiki bar, or go a more traditional route and have a concrete faced bar made.

9. Patio Umbrella - One of the most important pieces of outdoor pool furniture is an umbrella. Umbrellas can range in price from just 20 to 30 dollars all the way up to a couple thousand dollars. There are different features to ponder such as size, color, or being able to tilt your umbrella to different angles.

10. Hammock - And finally another one of my favorites is a good old fashioned hammock. There is nothing better than relaxing next to the pool on a hot day in a hammock with a nice breeze blowing. Don't worry, if you don't have two trees to tie it up to they make hammocks with stands build right in.

Cats behavior is an enigma to the people who spend their time these animals and care for them. A cats behavior is not the same as human behavior and cat control can not be achieved by using methods that are based on faulty assumptions.

Your cat was designed to live independently outside and may still have a reserve of a wild lion side. Their basic instincts will show thru from time to time and it is better to try to understand the reason a cat does some of the things it does than to just assume it is a bad behavior.

Golden Retriever puppies are very adorable, but even their cute behavior, like jumping onto laps and barking at anything different will get old as they grow up. They don't stay small for long. A pup that is twelve pounds at a couple of months will be thirty-five pounds by four months and easily sixty-five pounds by a year of age. It is best to teach them good habits right from the beginning, as bad habits are much harder to get rid of than to teach good habits from the start.

It is important to teach your puppy to not chew or bite, to not growl and intimidate during play, and to not get growly when a person touches the food bowl or toys. These behaviors can be taught at home, but another wonderful alternative is to train him at a training facility established for these types of obedience training classes. Hopefully, the facility has small classes and few distractions, so your puppy can learn quicker.

It is also smartest to use positive reinforcement when your puppy does what he should, using praise and food. It is not helpful to yell at your dog or use intimidation with him, as your puppy wants you to be happy with him and wants to please you. The obedience classes are also for the owner's benefit - so you can learn how best to treat your dog, both when they obey and when they don't.

When furnishing your dollhouse, the options are almost limitless. You can purchase pre-made furnishings. If you have both the skill and the time, you can create your own miniature furniture. You can also use printables ordered from catalogs or downloaded online.

Purchasing pre-made furniture is the simplest option. Whether you are just starting out or adding to a growing collection, there is a wide range of styles and prices to choose from. Try to visit some dollhouse shows in person and shop the extensive internet dollhouse showrooms as well. You'll find everything from inexpensive block furniture to exquisite artisan collections.

Toy Boxes Furniture

One option is to purchase the basics right away, such as kitchen and bathroom furnishings. The rest of the house can then be decorated slowly over time. Or, buy some relatively inexpensive "placeholder" furnishings to start with, then allow the decor to evolve over time.
